Speakers: Shawn Waite, City Manager Hubbard OR
Ann Ober, Assistant County Administrator, Washington County
Description- Oregon, like many states, has multiple government jurisdictions within one city, taking care of different services and working together on projects. We will discuss some of the common services from each jurisdiction, collaborative projects between different jurisdictions, and opportunities among the three.
10:15 - 11:15 am - The Journey in Local Government with Representative Ruiz
Speaker: Representative Ricki Ruiz
Description - Representative Ricky Ruiz shares his story and the importance of being engaged in government and having representation at all levels of government.

1:15 - 2:15 pm - Networking for All
Speaker: Alfredo Haro, OLLG Board of Director & Senior Public Engagement and Title VI Specialist Planning, Development and Research
Description: This session offers practical tools and a welcoming space to foster connection. Participants will physically move in response to statements about identity and belonging. Whether you’re introverted, extroverted, or somewhere in between, you’ll leave with tools to network with confidence and authenticity.
2:30 - 3:30 pm - - Raíces y Responsabilidad: Latine Leaders Shaping
(Lived Experience as Technical Expertise (Panel)
Description: Latine professionals are increasingly serving the very cities, counties, and barrios that shaped their upbringing. As public servants rooted in their communities, these leaders bring a unique blend of community ties and professional expertise.
Panelists will explore how their lived experience and associated challenges, continue to inform their approach to public service. Participants can expect rich conversations around representation, building trust, and driving change in the places they call home.
